PARROT BEHAVIOUR & ENRICHMENT CONSULTATIONS...

Jim currently provides clinical behaviour and enrichment consultations in partnership with Brisbane Bird & Exotics Veterinary Service, located at Macgregor on the south side of Brisbane.

The clinic consult sessions cater for a wide range of behaviour and training issues. It’s a great way to access some experienced and qualified support for setting new goals with your parrot and taking your relationship to the next level. All management issues experienced by parrot owners can be discussed and worked through, including:

• Feather picking
• Managing aggression
• Strategies for reducing excessive vocalisation
• Rebuilding the trust account with a fearful parrot
• Improving diet management and diet delivery to maximise training goals
• Effective reinforcement delivery for handling, training and flight management
• Environmental enrichment strategies

Consultations are tailored to your individual goal setting needs. We also offer a `Coffee Consult’ - an opportunity to chat about your parrot and ask away with a range of general questions about the enrichment and care of your feathered companion over a cuppa! Please be aware that these clinic consults are for behaviour, training and environmental enrichment advice. PBEC Consultation Clinic days are held on the third Saturday of each month between 8am and 1pm. Bookings must be made by the Thursday prior to the clinic session date. Cost is just $95 for a 1 hour consult. Call Nikki or Alana at BBEVS on 07-3420 6773 to make a booking.

INHOME CONSULTATIONS...

Jim is also available for inhome consultations between Gympie and Brisbane Southside. Inhome consultations are usually limited to Environmental and Enclosure Design and Management sessions. Behaviour management issues should first be discussed via the clinic consultation pathway detailed above. Jim has worked with a number of clients on outdoor flight aviary design and package options are available for parrot owners seeking experienced advice on the design and construction of an outdoor enclosure for their companion birds. Inhome consultation costs vary, depending on client location.
