  • `Step Up: Parrots and People Learning Together'
    Date: Saturday June 5th - Sunday June 6th
    Location: Brisbane, Qld
    Information: This two day event is being held by the Parrot Society of Australia Inc and will feature world renowned avian trainer Barbara Heidenreich from Good Bird Inc (USA) and Taronga Zoo's fabulous Nicholas Bishop (AUS). Jim will be co-presenting with Barbara and Nic and will join the training team for a special practical workshop on Sunday June 6th.   • `Set Up for Success: Environmental & behavioural management of companion parrots'
    Date: Saturday July 4th
    Location: Taronga Zoo, Sydney NSW
    Information: A unique, tailored seminar day specially put together for companion parrot owners. The scope of the day will integrate the development of a species specific awareness of enrvironmental enrichment, diet management for optimising training and behaviour management, Applied Behaviour Analysis pathways for developing behaviour modification plans and conditioning techniques using positive reinforcement delivery. This is a wonderful opportunity for NSW companion parrot enthusiasts to develop their understanding of parrot behaviour.   • Companion Parrot Workshop - Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary
    Date: Saturday September 26th
    Location: Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Gold Coast QLD
    Information: Now in its 5th year, the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary Companion Parrot Workshop is Australia's most comprehensive and progressive education workshop for companion parrot owners, veterinary nurses, bird retail staff and parrot trainers. A brilliant day featuring multimedia presentations, breakout problem solving sessions, and behind the scenes tour of the Free Flight show - all immersed within the fantastic environment of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.     Location: Hobart, Tasmania
    Information: A specially tailored seminar day specially put together for companion parrot owners. The scope of the day will integrate the development of a species specific awareness of environmental enrichment, diet management for optimising training and behaviour management, Applied Behaviour Analysis pathways for developing behaviour modification plans and conditioning techniques using positive reinforcement delivery. This is a wonderful opportunity for Tasmanian companion parrot enthusiasts to develop their understanding of parrot behaviour. Participant numbers are limited and registrations must be received by November 16th 2009.   • Australian Veterinary Association Conference
    Date: May 23rd to 28th
    Location: Brisbane Convention Centre, Queensland
    Information: Jim will be delivering a special 4 hr series of lectures and practical workshops specially tailored for veterinarians and veterinary staff on parrot behaviour & training in the vet clinic.
  • Parrots 2010 Convention
    Date: Friday July 2nd to Sunday July 4th
    Location: TBA - Brisbane, QLD
    Information: Jim will be delivering two lectures at the 6th biennial `Parrots' Convention hosted by the Parrot Society of Australia Inc. Jim's first lecture will focus on diagnostic, rehabilitation and prevention pathways for feather picking. His second presentation will be apractical overview of designing and constructing an outdoor enrichment aviary for companion parrots. This event will feature a program with over 20 different lectures and breakout seminars over 2 days. Absolutely not to be missed by any parrot enthusiast!!!   • AAVAC Conference
    Date: October 4th to 8th
    Location: Hobart, Tasmania
